MORAL ORDER, by Mário Barroso, represents Portugal at the Ariel Awards 2021

The Portuguese Academy of Cinema selected MORAL ORDER as the representative of Portugal at the Ariel Awards 2021, in the category of Best Ibero-american Film.


The Ariel are awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Mexico, thus adding to the highlights of the film's international journey. Among others are the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Valencia and São Paulo Exhibitions.


Produced by Paulo Branco, MORAL ORDER is starring Maria de Medeiros, who plays the leading role as Maria Adelaide Coelho da Cunha, heir to Diário de Notícias, who in 1918 abandoned the social, cultural and family luxury in which she lived to escape with the chauffeur, 26 years younger.


The film premiered in the Portuguese theaters on 10th of September, having also premiered in France, on the 30th. Since its debut, it has been widely acclaimed by critics and the public.
