After a long separation, Joëlle and Kamel finally divorce, but both are on the staff of Emmanuelle Joly, the newly elected mayor of Montfermeil, an underprivileged town on the outskirts of Paris. The mayor’s team gets to work implementing the wonders she promised on the campaign trail: naps for all; crops on rooftops; sexual assistance in the home; harmonization of humans’ breathing; Montfermeil International School of Languages, and so on. But dangerous enemies resolutely sabotage these fine policies as Paris plans its expansion, and Madam Mayor slowly slips into depression. Will we have a wonderful Brioche Day this year?

Director's biography
French cinema and stage actress, Jeanne Balibar studied at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. At the Cesar Awards she was nominated Most Promising Actress with My Sex Life... or How I Got Into an Argument (1997) by Arnaud Desplechin and Best Supporting Actress for Tomorrow’s Another Day (2000) by Jeanne Labrune. In 1998, she recieved the Silver Seashell for Best Actress at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for Late August, Early September (1998) by Olivier Assayas.
Jeanne Balibar has filmed with Bruno Podalydès, Benoit Jacquot, Christophe Honoré, Jacques Rivette, Raoul Ruiz, Michael Winterbottom, Mathieu Amalric, Pedro Costa, Jean-Claude Biette...
Musically wise, she recorded two albums, Paramour (2003) and Salom Dame (2006).
