From December 3rd we will dive into THE WORLD OF WONG KAR WAI. Medeia Filmes, in collaboration with Leopardo Filmes, will exhibit 5 masterpieces in restored 4K digital copies of the unmistakable auteur, an unconditional Hong Kong lover and master of seduction atmospheres: IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2000 ), CHUNGKING EXPRESS (1994), FALLEN ANGELS (1995), HAPPY TOGETHER (1997) and 2046 (2004).

In the 20 years of IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, Wong Kar Wai proposes to (re)visit his world. It is with this mythical film that we start, at the Nimas cinema in Lisbon, and at the Campo Alegre Theater, in Porto, the cycle THE WORLD OF WONG KAR WAI.

«At the end of my film IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, it could read:
He remembers those vanished years.
As though looking through a dusty window pane,
the past is something he could see, but not touch.
And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.

This is exactly what I felt when I saw the film again in 2015. In collaboration with Criterion and the meticulous work of L'Immagine Ritrovata, we spent five years restoring not only IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, but also the rest of this collection.
Now the window is no longer dusty. »
