The Domain (A Herdade) wins two Golden Globes – Best Film and Best Actor
The winners of the Golden Globes 2021 were announced last night and The Domain- A Herdade, by Tiago Guedes, won the Golden Globe for Best Film. Albano Jerónimo was distinguished for his role as João Fernandes with the Golden Globe for Best Actor.

A Leopardo Filmes production, The Domain is a film starring Albano Jerónimo and Sandra Faleiro, directed by Tiago Guedes and screenplay by the director and Rui Cardoso Martins, with the collaboration of Gilles Taurand. With a path that started in Venice 2018, in the Official Selection in Competition, where a Portuguese film hadn’t gone for 14 years, soon followed by the selection for the Toronto Festival in the Special Presentations section, The Domain, has had an international and national path exception. It has participated in more than ten of the most important festivals around the world, having received several awards, premiered in several countries and had a huge success in its exhibition on Canal Arte, with one million and one hundred thousand spectators. In Portugal, between its premiere in the theater and viewing it on television and on the streaming platforms on which it is available, it was one of the most watched films in 2019 and 2020. The Domain reached close to 4 million viewers around the world.
